Black & White Family Portraits | Winchester, MA

This session is a bit of a departure from what I usually show.  While all my portrait sessions include all the final images in both color and black & white, for this session, we were going for a truly classic look and the client requested all black & white.  With the strong dappled light in the location they chose, it was a good choice for so many reasons and helped to really highlight what we all wanted to highlight.

With three year old twins and a six year old, it was tons of fun to be outdoors where they could run off steam and really show off their stuff — for 3 year old E, jumping is a new skill and she was particularly excited to show me how high she could go.  It was chilly, also, so we had lots of snuggles, which helped these kiddos adjust to being in front of the camera, as well.  Even with all the activity, we had some lovely quiet sweet moments as well, especially between the twins, as well as some super sweet moments between the two sisters.  When the kids were feeling all done, mom and dad got in front of the camera — sometimes it’s hard to take a moment to just be a couple when you have three busy kids, and I love to be able to help give an excuse for that pause 🙂 Here are a few of my favorites, and I hope you enjoy them as much I enjoyed photographing them:
