Fall Meadow Portraits | Lexington, MA

It was so much fun to see these folks again!  I had first photographed them last fall — a time that feels like it’s whole universes away now that we’re in a pandemic.  This year, when they reached out for another portrait session, we talked about my covid precautions and I suggested we head to one of my favorite spots this year — it’s long been a favorite, but is getting even more love this year because there’s almost never anyone else there, and when there is someone (occasionally we’ll see a jogger or someone walking their dog), there is tons of space to step aside, so you don’t have to worry about getting too close.

When we got there, the trees had *just* barely started to turn, but the meadow grass was definitely giving off an Autumn vibe thanks to the drought New England has been experiencing this summer.  With bigger kids this year, we could play new and different games, which was a lot of fun.  Most kids, if I’m honest, don’t love the idea of sitting and taking pictures for an hour (honestly, neither do I — boring!) but we got their buy-in with some good games.  Here are a few of my favorites from our time together:
