Last year it was my privilege to photograph these lovely folks (though we dodged thunderclouds that time, as you can read on the linked post!) and this time, yet again, the chance of rain was set at zero — we managed to skate by (the rain didn’t start until a few minutes after this session ended, thank goodness!) but we all got a bit of a laugh at once again racing the rain drops (especially given that we’re still in a drought!).

It was such a joy to see how these kiddos have grown up over the past year — not just physically, but also emotionally.  Seeing these three siblings and their care for each other was incredibly touching (especially as a mom of three myself — these are the moments I *live* for with my own kids).  At one point, one them was a little reluctant, not quite feeling the prompt I had given (which, for the record, is always COMPLETELY FINE WITH ME!  If someone isn’t feeling it, I’m happy to pivot!).  But this time, I didn’t need to pivot.  I looked up and saw his siblings ever so gently and kindly encouraging him to join them.  And by the time they were off and running (ok, pun intended — it was a running prompt) the reluctant sibling was charging ahead leading the way with a big grin.  Here are a few of my favorites:
