Snowy Family Portraits | Lexington, MA

I first met these folks when I photographed the auction last year for the Nashoba Learning Group — a phenomenal organization making such a big difference in the lives of kids with autism and their families.  So I was so thrilled when J reached out to ask if I would photograph her family this fall.  While a late October session might be expected to have some foliage (it’s past peak, but not a ton past it), we got a major treat instead — October Surprise SNOW!  I don’t know about you, but I love snow.  I love playing in it, I love shoveling it (yes, really — even winter of 2015 couldn’t dampen my enthusiasm), and most of all, I absolutely LOVE photographing people in it.  It lends a magical quality to the light in a portrait and just makes everything feel extra special.  These folks were real troopers given that it was pretty chilly out (hence, of course the snow!) and their side yard proved to be the perfect winter wonderland setting.  Since we were at their home, there was even time for a quick wardrobe change 🙂  Here are a few of my favorites from our time together:
